NOTES: Weather: WIND; AN INTERMITTENT SONG WITH OCCASIONAL QUIET PERIODS WHEN HE MADEA 'TWITTERING' SOFTLY BEFORE BREAKING INTO SONG AGAIN. SONG COMPOSED GENERALLY OF 5 OR 6 PHRASES WITH SOMETIMES THE LONELY TRILL, SOMETIMESJUST A REPEAT WITHOUT THE TRILL. BIRD PERCHED IN A PROMINENT PLACE AND MOVED HIS WINGS WHILE SINGING. UPON PLAYBACK BIRD WOULD IMMEDIATELY START TOSING LOUD AND LONG. HE WOULD APPROACH THE SOUND SOURCE AND ALMOST TRYTO 'DROWN' ME WITH HIS SONG. ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION THE BIRD APPROACHED TO WITHIN INCHES OF AN UNATTENDED MACHINE AND WITHIN 2 OR 3FT WHEN THE RECORDIST WAS BY THE MACHINE. WITHOUT PLAYBACK THE BIRD WAS SHY AND SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO SEE. COASTAL. NEAR HABITATION. SOME AREAS THICK, SOME OPENED AND CLEARED - GARDEN, ETC. RECORDED IN EARLY MORNING. 1 MALE
