NOTES: THIS RECORDING MADE IN THE GARDEN OF THE HOME OF JOHN START WHICH HADGOOD COVER, TALL TREES, AND VALLEYS WITH MOIST MONTANE FOREST. INITIALLY, TYPICAL CALLS CAN BE HEARD AS BIRDSFEED ON NECTAR, VISITING FROM FLOWER TO FLOWER. ACCORDING TO MYLES THIS IS FOLLOWED BY CALLS OF THE MALE CHASING THE FEMALE. THIS SPECIES IS BELIEVED TO BE VERY TERRITORIAL. MALES CAN OFTEN BE SEEN CHASING FEMALES AROUND. HABITAT: MOIST MONTANE EVERGREEN-TYPE VEGETATION WHERE THE FOREST HAS BEEN LEFT. MUCH LAND HAS BEEN CLEARED FOR FARMING. AS THEALTITUDE GAINS THE VEGETATION GOES INTO SOME CEDAR (JUNIPERUS PROCERA) AND BAMBO (ARUNDINARIA ALPINA)ZONES.
