NOTES: Background: BARNARDIUS ZONARIUS SEMITORQUATUS (CALLS); Weather: WIND; N.C. PILEATA. EXTREMELY ACTIVE. CALLED NERVOUSLY AND FLEW FROM TREE-TOP TO TREE-TOP. THE FEW NOTES THAT WERE TAPED WERE GIVEN FROM A DEAD BRANCH NEARLY OVERHEAD. APPARENTLY NOTES WERE CONVERSATIONAL, HELPING TO KEEP THE FLOCK FROM GETTING SEPARATED. NEARLY LEVEL AND LIGHTLY WOODED AREA. A SMALL STREAM, NOW ALMOST DRY BUT WITH MANY BUSHES, WAS ON ONE SIDE OF THE GRAVEL ROAD AND A PASTURE WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE. RECORDED EARLY AFTERNOON. Age: 5 UNKNOWN AGE; MALE; FEMALE
