NOTES: Background: SERINUS STRIOLATUS STRIOLATUS (POSSIBLY); P.S. MELANORHYNCHA. A PAIR OF BIRDS WHICH WERE FEEDING YOUNG AT THE START OF THIS SEQUENCE. THE BIRDS WERE GIVING FAIRLY INTENSE ANXIETY CALLS AS MYLES GREW NEAR THEM IN SEARCH OF THEIRNESTS WHICH HE WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND. THE CALL BECOMES MORE INTENSE WHICH IS NOTED IN THE INCREASED PACE OF THE CHATTERING OR SCOLD AS MYLESTERMS IT. ONE SHORT PHRASE GIVEN BY ONE OF THE PAIR CAN BE HEARD AND THE ODD MUSICAL CALL NOTE ALSO. THE AREA IS UNDER EXTENSIVE CULTIVATION BOTH AS FARMLAND AND AS 'FORESTORY' I.E. MONO-SPECIFIC STANDS OF SOFT WOOD TIMBER.

ML: Background subject changed from recordist's original identification of Serinus striolatus striolatus to Serinus striolatus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
