NOTES: sunny, hazy, strong S wind, falling tide; open mud flats with scattered grass (pres. Spartina) tussocks bordering shallow bay; Associated species: Calidris pusilla. 2 calls on the ground, then flushed (by recordist), giving 1-2 calls in flight immediately after taking off, then flying N 300m before landing again on flats.
