NOTES: Recorded in MS stereo. Microphones were planted at the base of an active Colaptes fernandinae nest, which was in a palmetto. Cut starts with short low-level chatter from adult at nest hole followed by a departure from left to right from the nest cavity. Then a few calls from a nearby palmetto about 25m away (these vocalizations were recorded in mono by Michael Andersen using a Telinga Pro Universal with Sennheiser MKH20). The second is an arrival sequence to the nest cavity with soft calls.
