    Equipment Note

NOTES: Recorded pre-dawn in Volcan. I set the microphone on the ground pointed upwards. It was a foggy night with a low cloud ceiling. The generator noise you hear is from a water treatment plant on the edge of town which had bright lights. Presumably these birds were migrating low and were attracted to the bright lights of the water treatment plant. After not detecting this taxon at this site for three days prior we caught about 10 in our mist nests that morning!
