NOTES: Notes on tape: "Female Kalij Pheasant, whom I flushed. She walked three or four meters in front of me. You can hear her pecking at the ground, preening. When she stands up and beats her wings, wing drumming, looks like roughed grouse. Then I took a few steps, she jumped down to the road, and the tape ran out.... This location for the Kalij was right next to the gate. Its an area of pasture and a good number of Ohia, few Koa, but mostly Ohia." JN 23 Feb 2006
