NOTES: Notes on tape: "Song in flight from male akepa. There were apparently three akepas in this ohia in front of me. The orange-ish yellowish bird, not the brilliant blaze orange, flew out first and sang as it did so, headed towards other ohias...then a female bird, then an adult male, bright orange, stark contrast to the initial bird.... There are a number of akepas singing here. There appear to be females in receptive condition and thats promoting a lot of song from the males." JN 08 Feb 2006
