    Equipment Note

NOTES: The calling bird was initially 5-6 meters away, later 15-18 meters away, and 3-10 meters up amid a tanager flock that included three or four Hemithraupis flavicollis and possibly a Dacnis cayana, all foraging at the edge of scrub along a side road on the slope above the valley; I clearly saw a male of this species giving the sharp ÒchipÓ calls, but I am less sure about the bird giving the thinner ÒseekÓ calls, possibly a Dacnis; I later saw both a female and an immature male Hemithraupis to go along with the adult male I saw earlier.
