NOTES: These birds (apparently two) were probably <30 meters away from me but singing relatively infrequently and completely off axis because I could never locate them in the trees along the stream near the small clearing just short of the sharp bend at the base of the hill; I did see one bird before I recorded this and it was about 18 meters up and in association with a mixed-species flock; this was recorded following limited playback of a prerecorded tape made by Mario Cohn-Haft, in response to which a bird eventually began singing and may have approached; partly cloudy, intermittently breezy, mid-80s.
