NOTES: The bird highlighted was a male that had its inter-scapular patch flared; when recorded, it was moving constantly, but generally 5-10 meters away and 1/2-2 meters up in dense undergrowth along the stream behind the small forest clearing at the base of the hill (in the same spot and presumably highlighting the same group of birds as did cuts #2001-12-03 & 06, recorded the previous day); this seemed to be an alarm call that was given only after I arrived at the spot and recorded following my ÒspishingÓ which seemed to further agitate the birds; I did not see any swarming ants at the time; partly cloudy, intermittently breezy, 85¡ F.
