    Equipment Note

NOTES: Possibly two birds, one of which I saw briefly as it flew across the road in response to my whistled imitation, in response to which the bird came right in, shooting across the road 1-3 meters off the ground and gave the aggressive chipping calls; the first two parts were after my whistling, the last after playback of the earlier parts; when recorded, the bird was 10-15 meters away and 2 1/2-3 meters up, often on small trunks in scrubby terra firme forest along the right fork of the second spur (ramal) road in the INCRA project; full overcast, calm, 82¡ F.
