NOTES: A male that was well seen, initially 10 meters away and 2 meters up, later 6-7 meters away and 3-4 meters up, in the undergrowth of good terra firme forest with many palms but no apparent bamboo about 400-500 meters in on forest trail; initially natural, then after playback of itself, in response to which the bird came right in and gave the same calls, though it appeared nervous, often flicking its wings; the bird gave two different calls, one while perched and the other when it flew; partly cloudy, calm, 80¡ F.
