    Equipment Note

NOTES: This bird was unseen when recorded, glimpsed four times as it crossed the trail shortly later (as a medium-sized, dark gray tinamou running on the ground), and eventually seen relatively well after much effort; when recorded, the bird was 5-8 meters away and presumably on the ground (as it was when I saw it) away in very dense undergrowth with many palms and Heliconia just in from the edge of tall terra firme forest on the south side of the road just beyond the second forest trail; in response to playback, the bird tended to approach silently but later begin singing soft songs and eventually louder songs with attenuated notes; overcast, calm, 86¡ F; note that this cut was made AFTER those in reel #2000-35.
