    Equipment Note

This begins with natural song by a pair, presumably the same birds highlighted in cut #2000-29-07. Unseen bird was initially about 6 meters away, later 8-10 meters away, and 3 meters up in dense scrub at the edge of tall terra firme forest along the spur road about 150 meters beyond the large Parkia tree.

After playback, in response to which the birds zipped back-and-forth calling and I managed to get good view of both members of the pair, typically 1 1/2 -3 meters up in dense undergrowth along the road, at times perching in the open for short periods. Fully overcast with thunder off in the distance; it began raining about a half hour later.
