    Equipment Note

NOTES: These birds were seen relatively well but they were also relatively distant at first (typically about 40 meters away and ranging from 1-2 meters up to 4-6 meters up) and moving all about but not calling much; the first part of this recording followed playback of a pre-recorded tape by Kevin Zimmer, the response to which was minimal; there was no additional playback between the parts of this recording, but we moved up on the birds during the gap, so for the second part they were probably 15-20 meters away and 4-5 meters up in a stand of Gynerium cane; the second part of the recording has few good calls at first, but then very little until the end; recorded in the same spot as the previous cut (#00-RDAT02-20) in an area with partly cleared understory and stands of Gynerium cane, but the understory and mid-levels quite open [partly cloudy, slightly breezy, upper 80s]; recorded simultaneously with Mario Cohn-Haft (in part).
