NOTES: A male that was well seen, mostly 30-60 meters away, but about 20 meters away when calling at the end, and typically perched 1-1 1/2 meters up, often in a small Cecropia bush, over an open field with rows of banana trees and a grassy understory; the bird sometimes gave flight songs, when it would fly upward sharply, peak, and then give the song on the way down; this male, one of two present, also chased a female once or twice; the field was on the north side of the road to the cave about 2 kilometers back towards the BR-174; partly cloudy, a steady breeze, upper 80s.
