    Equipment Note

NOTES: A pair of birds 15-18 meters away and about 1-1 1/2 meters apart on ground in clearing at edge of river right near the dock; the calling bird, apparently a male, was walking around and wiggling rear part of its body; the birds appeared to be settling in for the day; they had been calling more loudly before I recorded them; getting light; dense fog, calm, 78¡ F.
