NOTES: The calling bird was essentially unseen but probably 40 meters away and 25 meters up in the canopy at the top of a leguminous tree where a fresh becard-like nest was seen about 1 meter from an active wasp nest; I did once see a bird leaving the nest, suggesting that these were either begging calls by the nestlings or calls by an adult in the nest (as also suggested by their consistency); a second bird was giving similar calls off in the distance; there was a mixed-species flock present but I was not sure if the calling was associated with this flock; increasing clouds, calm, 78¡ F
