Apparent Biological Function of Sound: threat (the animal was agitated by my presence);
What Behavior Accompanied Vocalization: the squirrel moved around in tree trunk or clung to side of treehead downward;
What did animal do when not vocalizing: the squirrel moved around on the tree trunk or froze to side head downward, sat on a small branch for a minute;
Description of Exact Place From Which Sound was Made: the squirrel was about 15 feet up the trunk of an oak. the woods is almost all oak at this place the mike was hand-held about 4 feet above ground and directed towards squirrel;
Background Sounds: a Cardinal was chirping in the background;
