NOTES: Adult male was well seen, about 60 m away in first part of recording, about 50 m away in second part; when seen, it was high up in scrubby deciduous woodland on slope in the middle of the canga, but it may have been lower in trees when recorded initially; the first part was natural, but subsequent cuts were after playback of itself, in response to which the bird approached; it initially gave the same song/call, but additional playback resulted in the somewhat different vocalizations (possibly songs?) captured in the third part of this recording (file #CAR181); the final part of the recording was recorded after additional playback, with the bird now perched in the open atop a deciduous tree about 40 m away and 6 m up (maybe 30 cm below the top of the tree); Nagra filter was switched to cut position half way through first part of recording to reduce rumble of distant machinery; this recording contains six files (#CAR177-182); latter part of file #CAR0178 not copied. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Deciduous Forest, Savannah, Scrub.
