NOTES: This bird was unseen at the time but apparently 50 m away and 30 m above the ground and relatively high up in trees at edge of good terra firme forest near a draw or small ravine (stream?) about 1/2 km. beyond the bend in the road; these vocalizations were completely unfamiliar to me, but in response to playback, this species came in and was well seen creeping along a trunk (though it never vocalized while in view); not only is this not a song-type with which I am familiar, but it sounds like the loud ÒspeekÓ calls are given by a bird that was Òon-axis,Ó suggesting that it too was this species; many of the songs are off-axis because I had assumed the bird was nearer the ground; mostly clear with only a few high clouds, calm, and in the low to mid-80s [= CAR101-102, the latter with voice announcement].
