NOTES: Agitated song by the same owl as that in file #CAR05-49, now about 6-8 m away and 5-6 m up near the top of a small tree in the understory; this was recorded after playback of itself by Luciano N. Naka after sunrise, in response to which the bird flew right in and landed over our heads; after quite a long while, the bird began singing and this was recorded, but despite the birdÕs presence for roughly a half-hour before this, it flew off almost immediately after I began recording; bird gave a longer, evenly paced song following playback, as opposed to the shorter song with the three faster notes at the end when natural; bird held wings downward and looked around, jiggled the wings with every note when it sang but no display was given; partly cloudy (high clouds), 75¡ F; first part not copied [= CAR090-091].
