NOTES: Song of the same, rufous-morph bird highlighted in cut #CAR05-31 after playback of itself; bird was unseen at this time, but apparently 40 m away at first, later 20-25 m away and 18 m up (two-thirds of the way up trees) in subcanopy of somewhat scrubby, 25 m-tall forest along edge of Canga N1 and near edge of plateau; well seen later, and described briefly on tape, as it perched on a roughly horizontal branch about 3/4 of the way up the trees; bird wagged the tail with each note, moved the head around, and opened the bill but it did not really give a display as it sang; in response to playback, bird flew back-and-forth at subcanopy level, generally continuing well into forest before stopping silently, but eventually beginning to sing the same song at an accelerated rate; once gave the ÒalternateÓ song but generally gave the normal song at a rapid pace; mostly overcast, trace to mild breeze at times; 85¡ F; this recording combines five files, each with a brief announcement [= CAR0409-052, CAR054].
