NOTES: Recorded in same general area where I recorded previous cuts, but on back side of field with scattered trees and more open grassy area with smaller shrubs; I had done some ÒspishingÓ but reaction appeared to be minimal; these birds were present in this area all morning and typically called loudly whenever I approached; one was certainly carrying food, and I suspect the second bird was as well; the target bird was 18-20 m away and 3-6 m up, at first as it moved about grove of small trees (apparently ash); in latter part of the recording, one bird dropped to a point near the ground, probably to feed the young; soft calls, possibly begging, can be heard at this time.
