NOTES: Bird was unseen at the time, but apparently 12 m up overhead in oaks in same place as previous recording in canyon bottom near streambed around foundation of an old house (where the canyon began to close in with many maples, sycamores, and oaks on hillside); what was presumably this same bird was seen shortly earlier following approach to ÒspishingÓ and Òowl whistles; this bird had been calling consistently before I tried to record it; clear, calm at the moment but a 5 knot breeze coming down canyon at others, mid-50s.
