NOTES: MLNS notes: the low moan the recordist mentions occurs at 1:30 from the start of the cut (17Jun2004 CB).
Notes from tape: "Just moved the gain up to 10; the animals seem to be getting some distance away. (7:05). We've got a ratchet from the farthest animal, very faint in the background. I don't know if we'll be able to see the blow or not - a few whitecaps on the horizon (22:33). We had a blow, a half-mile abeam (23:22). Ratchet (28:01). We've got an animal coming up on the starboard beam, just under the surface - you could see the flipper (28:11). Animal about 20 feet off the starboard beam (28:30). That animal did not surface and blow - it disappeared now; perhaps gone a little bit deeper, or moved off away from the vessel (29:12). There are two animals to port, a half-mile to three-quarters, that just blew (33:13)."
Notes from recording log: "Cruise: Osprey. South of western section of Bank. SEAOCEAN
