NOTES: 83 songs and two long calls of BIRD #3 recorded at 5:57:52; the bird began today with a long call at 5:35:42 am, with its first song at 5:36:57 am; the first song on tape was the birdÕs second for the morning (with tape beginning at 5:37 am), though I also missed a second long call; after I moved up on it, the bird was 30-35 meters up almost directly over my head in the NW corner of the logging plot; the second time the bird moved, it moved back about 30 meters in the direction that he began singing to the huge tree where it often sang; I missed four songs, getting back onto bird with it 40 meters away from me and along the road into the plot; cut includes two long calls of the bird (a relatively good one near the end of the cut just before the bird moved at 5:56:08 am), and an interesting "run-together" song near the end of the cut; at the end of this cut the bird was about 45 meters from me and just off the NW corner of the plot; recorded at the north end of the plot (Bloco A) located off west side of Estrada do Gave¿, 2.1 km N of Estrada do Caing¿ [19¡ 04' 32" S, 39¡ 54Õ 17" W]; (2/25/27/1//19/1//8 Ð single slash indicates movement, double indicates break in tape).
ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
