NOTES: 64 songs and two long calls of BIRD #3 recorded at 5:50:05; tape began at 5:36:55 am, just before the birdÕs second song (the first part seemed to be a false alarm); the first long calls for the day were heard at 5:35:07 am, 5:35:26 am, and 5:36:10 am, followed by the first song; I missed only one song after bird began singing in the same huge tree that it used the previous day; unseen bird was initially 45 meters away, later 30-40 meters away, and 30-40 meters up; recorded off the west side of Estrada do Gave¿ on unmarked logging road, 2.1 km. N Estrada do Caing¿ (sustainable forestry plot Ð Bloco A [19¡ 04' 32" S, 39¡ 54Õ 17" W]); partly cloudy, calm, 72¡ F.

ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
