NOTES: Alarm calls of a female; I flushed this bird off the road and up into trees of relatively scrubby forest that I was told was primary forest, despite a broken and relatively low canopy (likely on sandy soils); the bird, a female, was well seen 15-35 meters away and 15 meters up; the bird flew several times during this recording, getting progressively farther from me each time; though there may have been two birds, I saw only a female; recorded along Estrada do Gave¿ north of Estrada do Flamengo, but approximately 100 meters south of the sharp bend at Estrada do Jeq. Rosas [19¡ 08' 32" S, 39¡ 55Õ 25" W]; largely overcast, rain for initial 3/4 or so of the day, calm, 77-80¡ F, dusk; filter on power supply was initially in HP-1 position, but later in flat as noted on tape. Other Behaviors: Emit Alarm. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
