NOTES: Eight songs and a long call of BIRD #1 at dawn; cut began at 5:42:24 am, after bird began singing at 5:40 am; unseen bird was 25-30 meters up and 30-35 meters away in good, terra firme forest along road from Estrada do Gave¿ to the Rio Barra Seca, 400-500 meters from house at north end of reserve; recorded in the same spot where I had previously recorded bird #1 in February 1999 (and quite possibly the same individual); this cut continues onto next two reels of tape.

ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
