NOTES: I never really got onto the bird with parabola; bird was in dense undergrowth in bamboo thicket just beyond marker #27; a really bright male seen exceptionally well Ð lemon-yellow face and black streaking on face and sides of breast; 6-8 meters away, 1_-4 meters up initially, 3-5 meters away after playback, often at edge of dense growth; bird approached rapidly in response to playback giving same call, but more frequently; breezy.

ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Hypocnemis hypoxantha ochraceiventris to Hypocnemis hypoxantha to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
