    Equipment Note

NOTES: 55 songs and 4 long calls of bird #2 recorded at 6:01 (contains an internal time announcement but apparenlty uncut); a continuation of cut #99-42-09 after missing six songs changing tape; recorded along logging road 1.3-1.5 km. W of highway; probably same bird recorded a week earlier; unseen bird was high up in large, densely vegetated tree 15-20 m off road on S side; 30-35 m up overhead; clearly not bird #1, which was roughly 800 m to the east of this individual; clear, calm, 75¡ F; sun was in trees by end of cut; signal dropped out in middle of cut, possibly due to a short in power supply.

ML: Background subject changed from recordist's original identification of Ramphastos tucanus cuvieri to Ramphastos tucanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
