NOTES: Bird was 12 m away and 8-10 m up in mixed-species flock; bird approached giving a harsher song in response to whistled imitation; it may have also come down somewhat lower after being whistled to; bird was in broken-up forest with dense lower and mid-levels and having many vine tangles and clusters of dead leaves; along logging road ca. 1 km. W of highway; singing bird was well seen later as it moved 6-8 m up, a male that had no apparent black in throat; clear but hazy, calm, low 70s.
