NOTES: Includes 70 songs and 12 long calls at dusk. This cut is a continuation of cut #99-25-04 beginning at 18:32 and represents dusk song; this cut comprises three parts all of the same bird from different angles; the recording levels were set in part to get long calls; unseen bird was 25-30 meters up and about the same distance away; it was now in dense vegetation, high up in the canopy of a large tree (it was difficult to get a good angle on, even from directly below); the second part begins at 18:43 with the bird 25-30 meters right overhead; the third part begins at 18:44:51 after a brief gap (bird now 30 meters away); same bird recorded numerous times in previous days; the bird was singing at least intermittently when I arrived at 18:21, and did so until 18:58, after this cut completed; a second bird gave a long-call at 18:57:59 (probably this birdÕs mate); this was recorded about 400 meters in from the end of the road into the forest about 15-20 meters on the south side; bird was ca. 75 meters farther out the road than it was in the morning; the last long calls from this bird were at 19:03 and 19:07, with the last songs being between 19:00 and 19:01; mostly high, thin clouds, calm, 80¡ F.
ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatus to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [guttatus Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
