NOTES: Chip calls of male. Recorded along the main road (Estrada do Gave¿) about 500 meters short of spur road that goes out to the house; male bird was well seen as it perched 20-25 meters away and 18 meters up on an exposed branch; this was in a rather open area of the forest, appearing much like a tree-fall gap or an old clearing; this was recorded after bird began calling, possibly in response to my imitating calls of Glaucidium brasilianum; high, thin clouds; breeze at times; 80¡ F.
