NOTES: Bird was recorded at edge of forest along roadside; the bird was seen calling 12 meters away and within a meter of the ground among an antswarm flock in moderately open undergrowth; recorded approximately kilometer marker 136 on road to Cucu¿; it began drizzling just as this cut ended; in addition to this bird (which had a long crest and a completely black cap suggesting a male), I saw in this flock both a male Phlegopsis erythroptera and Gymnopithys rufigula; high clouds, trace breeze, low to mid 70s.
