NOTES: HHb filters in cut position; attenuators off on both recorder and microphone; this cut contains eight songs; cut began at 6:05; bird began this morning with a long-call at 5:58 (just as I arrived at the spot), then a second long-call at 6:02 (which immediately followed a long-call by a second bird, presumably the mate); I managed to get the entire chorus with the exception of the first song (after which I immediately turned the recorder on); includes three long-calls from the second bird; bird was 35 meters overhead in a large tree at the edge of a small tree-fall gap 30-40 meters south (off the grid) of the intersection of trails K and 7S (350 meters); no additional songs were given by this bird, at least in the following half hour; calm; NOTE: left channel drops out.
ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus eytoni to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [eytoni Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
