    Equipment Note

NOTES: HHb filters in cut position; attenuators off on both recorder and microphone; same vocalization as RRN #98RDAT16-13, but possibly a different individual; recorded along Trail F, between 250 and 300 meters S of Principal Trail; bird was about one meter up in relatively open undergrowth near flooded igapo/igarape; this was recorded after I tried to imitate the call, in response to which the bird seemed to give the same vocalization more frequently; it did not respond to later playback of this recording; Mario Cohn-Haft tenatively concurred with identification after listening to tape.
