NOTES: The very first whistled sound is an imitation of Cuban Pygmy-Owl by Cuban herpetologist Luis M. Diaz, immediately followed by a vocalization from an unseen near-field bird. A second vocalization is heard seconds later, following a shut-off of the recorder, from approximately the same position and some 2 minutes and 9 seconds later a third vocalization, one off-axis, occurs. Precisely 1 minute 50 seconds of dead air time was removed between the second and third vocalizations from this individual at the time this recording was digitally archived. The level of the third vocalization was optimized by the archivist, Martha Fischer. The third vocalization is followed some seconds later by another whistled imitation from Luis Diaz. The location is not precisely at the coordinates provided here, but only meters from these GPS coordinates.
