For the habitat the only two possible birds are Amblycercus holosericeus and Cacicus chrysopterus. C. chrysopterus was common, always gregarious and never giving this sound. A. holosericeus was not recorded. The bird was seen to be all black, with no yellow rump or yellow bill. The area is far enough away from other sites that it could hold an unknown population of species or race of blackbird.
