NOTES: song and calls from numerous locations in oak and on fence post and hedge row [This recording begins with the song of the species, including both types of Regularly Repeated Vocalizations (RRVs; see Smith, W. J. 1969. Displays of Sayornis phoebe (Aves, Tyrannidae). Behaviour 33:283-322). The 20 "songs" here represent mostly RRV2s, with only five RRV1s (0:06, 0:17, 0:27, 0:52, and 1:01). The dominance of RRV2s is said to be atypical in this species (fide BNA), although it is typical of the available recordings. Following the songs are two Locomotory Hesitance Vocalizations (1:15, 1:18) and 15 "chip" calls or Simple Vocalizations (1:09-1:365). Quality changed from "E" to 2, 1-2 (the quality for the calls is better than that of the songs) - CAM - 13 April 2005]. Other Behaviors: Advertise, Court. Habitat: Grassland.
