NOTES: The initial statement describing the flock indicates that one bird was smaller than the others. Later in the narrated note the plural "smaller birds" is used. My recollection on how many smaller oropendolas were present is unclear. What I do recall is that a seemingly larger oropendola reversed flight direction and appeared to drive a slightly smaller oropendula away from the flock for a considerable distance.
