NOTES: This single call note, sounding essentially like the introductory note of song, was given in response to the presence of an MS pair of microphones placed within less than a meter of a Rock Wren nest. It was given when the bird arrived at the nest site after a foraging foray. The microphones laid in place while the bird was absent. An adult or adults were bringing food items to the nest. Only one adult bird was seen at any one time. No other adults were heard to vocalize when the adult bringing food was at the nest. The nest, not visible, was located beneath several low flat rocks on a rocky outcropping rising above the south side of the road. Location was on the south extension from Rt. 205 toward Foster Flat Road, west side of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in open slightly elevation higher dry country. Other Behaviors: Care For Young, Emit Alarm. Habitat: Desert, Rocky.
