NOTES: Steve Kelling, Matt Young, and I heard these sounds while listening for bitterns and rails in a saltwater marsh. John Fitzpatrick and Kevin McGowan immediately identified the bird as Icteria virens upon listening to this recording. The bird was apparently vocalizing from a shrubby or wooded patch along the marsh.
