NOTES: These birds were heard singing last night at dusk. They were singing this morning until 6:20 am (dawn is 6:30am). There are a lot of them singing in this open grassland. They don't fly high but stay knee high to thigh high. They do not perch on the grasses but are seen in sparse bushes 1-4 feet off the ground. The are probably territorial, breeding here, and they probably call all night. The last 2 parts are aggressive response to playback, several birds surrounded us, went slightly higher in habitat, protesting, territorial response with crest raised and feathers on rump raised, at least 3 active indivuals given in response to Stranick's tape from Argentina.
