Range extension only known from east of the Bale Mountains before this sighting. Seen in thick bushes in a patch of juniper forest at 1700M or higher. Split from S. xantholaemus. A pair of birds with one fledgling with a very heavy necklace of streaks, clear buffy white throat, a very condensed necklace of streaks continued down on the flanks. It was begging and soliciting food. Very responsive to tape and pishing.
