Media notes
Not sure if I've ever gotten a worse documentation shot than this... Yellow underparts can be made out, the flank streaking (barely), and the greenish-yellow upperparts. Unfortunately, the distinctive facial pattern cannot be seen in this photo. The bird was not a drab first-fall bird, but instead rather well-marked, something that cannot at all be seen in this photo.
Observation details
Seen well at 5 m distance, but was able to get only one extremely blurry shot, due to darkness from approaching thunderstorm. In mixed warbler flock at the end of the transect. Warbler with yellow underparts, greenish upperparts, blackish streaks on flanks and characteristic facial pattern, with blackish eye line and curved marking under eye, and dark marking on side of neck.
