Observation details
Accurate count. Flushed from ground. Small dove. Tiny tail. Scaling on head and not on body though black spots on wings. Also, rufous under the wings visible in flight. Stayed low to the ground when flushed and perched on some low branches. Location was approximately 100 meters south than before. There's some trailer debris on the west side of the trail and it's about 75 meters south of that debris. There's an old blue folding chair that's wedged into the barbed wire fence on the east - that's essentially the location. Approximately 600 meters from a possible parking spot along Eldridge. The doves were on the ground on the west side. Flew from ground into low branches of a nearby tree. The count was easy to make because after a little while two flew off deeper into the brush, followed by two more. The other two stayed a little longer in the tree which allowed me to get the pictures of the one, but they eventually flew off, too.
